On the night of January 3, 2026, I checked into HOTEL MYSTAYS Fuji Onsen Resort (ホテルマイステイズ富士山 展望温泉) after spending the day at Fuji-Q Highland and having a late dinner nearby.
Being close enough to walk to Fuji-Q made the day’s logistics easy. But location was only part of why I liked the hotel.
Related Moment Fuji-Q Highland, from Daylight to Night Beneath Mount FujiFrom the room, the roller coasters of Fuji-Q sat below the window with Mount Fuji rising behind them.
A comfortable room after a full day out
The room felt more like a clean, comfortable hotel than a flashy resort.
My twin room was tidy and easy to settle into after a long day. The staff were kind, parking was straightforward for our road trip, and there was a coffee machine on the first floor that was convenient whenever I passed through the lobby.
The view was still worth watching at night
Even late at night, the window kept drawing me back.
Mount Fuji was faintly visible in the darkness, while the remaining lights of Fuji-Q glowed below it. Seeing the roller coasters I had been riding only hours earlier made the day feel as though it had followed me back to the room.

Pink light on Mount Fuji at dawn
The view changed again before sunrise.
As the sky brightened, a soft pink tone began to catch the upper slopes of Mount Fuji. It was the same mountain I had watched all afternoon from inside Fuji-Q, but the quiet morning view from the room felt completely different.

Once the sun was higher, the snowy ridges became sharply visible.

A top-floor hot spring after Fuji-Q
The hotel has both a large public bath and an open-air bath.
Official information highlights the natural hot spring and public bath on the top floor, where Mount Fuji can be seen. After a day of walking around the park and riding attractions, soaking in the hot water was exactly what I wanted.

The hotel’s current official information lists the hot spring hours as 05:00–10:00 and 15:00–23:00. Photography and video are prohibited in the bathing areas, so the bath image above is sourced from the hotel’s Google Maps listing rather than my own stay.
Why this hotel worked so well for the trip
Fuji-Q Highland was within walking distance, and by car the hotel also worked well as a base for Lake Kawaguchi and the wider Fuji Five Lakes area.
Then there was the room view, the clean facilities, kind staff, easy parking, and the hot spring upstairs.
No single feature had to carry the stay. Everything I actually needed on this part of the trip was simply in the right place.
After being outside all day, I could come back for a bath, sleep, and wake up to Mount Fuji outside the window.
Considering the price as well, it was an easy hotel to become fond of and one I would naturally check again on another trip around Mount Fuji.
